My Personal and Professional Mission
Is to treat every patient and colleague the way I would like to be treated. I will strive to learn to advocate for my patients and for their welfare. Learning is an ongoing process in nursing and I will strive to value each opportunity which will increase my knowledge and help me prepare for my future endeavors. I will use this knowledge to promote the growth of those around me by supporting and encouraging them. I will make cordial relationship with all the health team members as all of us are working for a common cause: promoting health for all. I will endeavor to provide compassionate and quality care through holistic approach to each patient. I will incorporate evidence based nursing practice and will uphold ethical standards and values which include but are not limited to autonomy, human dignity, social justice and integrity.
Professional History
My Experience
As I reflect on my path of merging from a teacher to a nurse I realize that I have unintentionally adopted many values and beliefs that I did not have before I stepped into the field of nursing. These values that I obtained from lectures in the nursing school, my clinical experiences with a diversity of patients and their families and other health care team members reveal the incredible advancement I made from being a student to a BSN Registerd Nurse and will progress with me in the transition to Management. I believe in the concept of patient centered care and educating patients is something that I value. Incorporating evidence based practice will help me ascertain positive patient outcomes. As a nurse I value and maintain self awareness to avoid bias and give fair treatment to all regardless of personal opinion, gender, religion or cast. I am devoted and committed to continuous learning and representing myself as a valuable member of the health care team.
