According to the Gallup, 2010 results the public ranks nurses to be highest on honesty and ethics, however, nursing ranks low in career desirability (Sullivan, pg.47). Furthermore, nurses have not taken the lead in coming forward and discussing the image of nursing – what it is and what it is not (Jones&Barlett, 2010). There have been lots of changes in the profession of nursing since the times of Florance Nightingale in a global context, but most people do not understand the evolving healthcare and nursing issues.
